Custom Scale Models and Paleoart
Is your museum in need of quality paleoart reconstructions or scale models for exhibits? These custom made works can be specific to special exhibitions or to enhance permanent collections. Different materials including ceramic, cast resin, and bronze sculptures are available for commission. Inquire about included public demonstrations to include in your sculpture quote. Demonstrations are a great opportunity for the public to see sculptures in the making, and learn more about how artists and museums work together in exhibits, and focus on comparative anatomy and scale model techniques. Visitors then return to see the finished sculptures on display with the memory of seeing the process in action.
Art Exhibits for Natural History Museums
Does your museum have exhibit space for art? Consider an art exhibition that brings art and science together through subject matter, research, and process. Wondrous Creatures is a travelling exhibit of five ceramic sculptures. Each piece connects a prehistoric mammal with man made objects of the Eighteenth Century to reflect our own sense of discovery and the wonder to be found in natural history.
Testimonials
"We were pleased to be able to collaborate with Ariel and help bridge the gap between science and art through her work. For our 100th anniversary exhibition and special events, Ariel sculpted live during several events. She demonstrated the sculpture process and at the same time engaged with museum visitors, talking about her scientific research into understanding prehistoric animals and recreating an extinct animal from bones of a skeleton. Ariel was open and approachable, and so easy to work with throughout the entire process. We were thrilled to create a temporary display area for five of her sculptures. They are lovely, and her mastery of ceramics is evident in the details of each sculpture while attention to detail and scientific accuracy of the prehistoric animals is not found elsewhere. Topping this off with a touch of whimsy and humor make these sculptures definitely worth a close look."
